Simple Apple Sauce

A simple, satisfying 3-ingredient recipe to get your prescribed apple (or two) a day
As we’ve always heard, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Anthony Williams (aka the Medical Medium) tells us in his book, Life-Changing Foods: Save Yourself and the Ones You Love With the Hidden Healing Powers of Fruits & Vegetables that eating 2 apples or more a day can aid in the prevention of colon, liver, breast, prostate, and lung cancer — and can also dramatically decrease the risk of a stroke. Apples are a critical food for the liver and have many undiscovered properties that support liver health. The simplest form of getting packed with nutrition.
There is nothing like biting into a crisp, juicy, sweet apple, but in winter months when the prime harvest season has passed (and we know good apples here in the Hudson Valley!), apples start to have a little less snap and start to become a bit mealy. That however, doesn’t mean that they still don’t hold all the healing magic — they just aren’t always as enjoyable. No worries. There is still a great way to use those apples that are starting to lose their firmness.
Throw this 3-ingredient recipe into a pot and whip up some delicious apple sauce that can be eaten hot or cold, as a side dish, the main dish or dressed up with garnishes like nuts and other fresh fruits. Go ahead and be creative, just make sure you keep up with your apple a day!
